How to Shoot Slow Motion Video
Shooting Slow Motion is a bit of a misnomer when it comes to wanting slow motion shots in your videos.
The truth is that you have to shoot in fast motion, well high frame rate if truth be told and only then can you slow it down in editing and retain image and motion quality.
Even if you are shooting on a smartphone you can also factor in the shutter speed with an APP like Open Camera so check it out.

To be honest I thought this had been more than clarified some time back now… apparently not!
So in the interests of anyone new here’s an explanation of the difference between timelapse and hyperlapse.
And no, hyperlapse is not the same as timelapse only more… hyper!

Deleting Timeline Gaps in Filmora 12
Even if you don’t think you have gaps in your timeline this is still a great “failsafe” technique to learn.
When you get into more complex or longer projects there are often times when you are using ripple editing and then not.
It is very easy to forget to keep switching as you are going along and by the time you finish you may not necessarily be able to see gaps on the main timeline.
Sometimes the first time you see them is after you have rendered and notice little back points in the video.
Most video editing software will have a remove gaps or close gaps function.
You can see it here in Filmora but if you are not using that software you should be able to find it in your own video editing software.

Amazing Tool for Quicker Editing. Delete Silence with Recut
I haven’t tried this yet but will be next week when I cut my wife’s next YouTube video.
The truth is that at least half the time I spend cutting videos like that consists of the following procedure.
First find the take that will be used then move to the end of that take and make a cut.
Find the next good take and cut a little before the dialogue starts.
Join them and check that the space between the end of the first and the start of the second is just right and then… lather, rinse, repeat.
Essentially almost 99% of the cutting and joining is based entirely on the audio waves in this type of video.
If only there was a software that could detect those silences, make the cuts and join it all together ready for fine tuning!
Well there is now and it’s called Recut!
