DO This if you Hate Video Editing – How Not to Burn Out Editing

When we all start out Editing the “newness” of the acitivty makes it seems interesting and fun to do.

Working out how to do stuff, learning new techniques, it’s all a bit of an adventure!

After a while the harsh reality sets in and we all start to realize that the actual editing itself can be tedious, repetitive and very time consuming.

Sure the results are great but over time getting to that point of seeing the results seems to feel like it is getting longer and longer!

Pretty soon we start to feel kinda burnt out on the whole thing and to be honest there is a reason for that.

That reason is that we are most likely engaging in a very inefficient workflow at a whole range of levels.

Check out this video for some great tips to get your editing faster and more enjoyable.

Audio Cues in VideoStudio 2023

VideoStudio has had a handy tool to create beat markers to the timeline for some time now.

However in the latest version of VideoStudio 2023 they have extended the functionality of the feature to make it even more useful.

Editing to the beat is a tried and true method for cutting your videos and with the new Audio Cues feature this is even easier now.

These Channels Will No Longer Be Monetized in 2023

Wise words from the guys at Movavi this week regarding “one click” or automated type content on YouTube.

Given the rate at which technology is being introduced to the world of video and video editing it is not surpising that there are a bunch of automated content creation strategies being released.

Probably the most popular of the new kids on the block is Chat GPT.

From the outside it all looks to be awesome and surefire way of creating endless text for content so we can all get rich! Woohoo!

Well not so fast there tiger.

If the technology exists to create human like content then the technology exists to detect that the content is not human.

For the moment Google is letting that one slide but the day will probably come when they will have to make a choice beteeen human and A.I. generated content and for a lot pf people that will not be a good day.

The same goes for automated or A.I. generated video on YouTube.

There is always a grace period with any of these things but when the hammer drops, it drops really hard.

How to Put Yourself in Any Movie – Wondershare Filmora

This is a bit of a complex effect to pull off but if you follow along closely you can do it yourself with a little time and patience.

The key to effects like this is almost always in the shot setups rather than in the editing itself so pay particular attention to that aspect of it.

3 Easy and Cool Travel Vlog Openers! – Wondershare Filmora

Just like the tutorial video somewhere else around here this week we have another “How to” video on a specific style if video and in this case it is travel.

However that’s not the importance of this tutorial.

The importance is in the way in which the design choices are made and the method of implementation.

PowerDirector Q&A Live March 1, 2023

Once a month or so Maliek from PD University hosts a live Q&A session covering all sorts of topics in the field of video creation.

Maliek uses PowerDirector as his editor and that forms the basis of his channel but he in no way restricts himself to that subject.

He is a professional working editor and there is always something to be learned in his videos.

PowerDirector – Fill Hollow Title Text with Color Animated

The Titling Module in PowerDirector is one of the best around offering very advanced techniques and control in an understandable interface.

No it’s not totally simple!

That’s impossile if you want the advanced features but to my mind it ranks as one of the best for finding that balance between advanced features and usability.

Check out one of the techniques you cna use in the video below.

Make Your Text POP With This Easy Davinci Resolve 18 Trick

If you are thinking of using DaVinci Resolve as your “go to” editor you have to be prepraed for the sometimes overwhelming complexity of the program.

Resolve is designed to be an almost complete end-to-end solution for those operating at the fully professional level.

By that I mean Hollywood blockbuster type professional… not just a cool YouTube video!

Because of that, doing simple things can often be pretty complicated as you stumble about the interface.

Conversely your average consumer level editor can do most of what you want in a far easier way because that’s what they are designed for.

There are however a lot of tutorial videos on YouTube covering how to do simple tasks… well… simply!

Here’s one for titles.

5 Video Editing Mistakes Everyone Makes! – Video Editing for Beginners

As usual here are some very solid tips on making your videos look better and retain audience attention from the guys at Movavi.

The first tips on the overuse of transitions has been for years one of my favorite rant subjects!

When people are new to video editing it doesn’t really matter what program they are using.

At some point they will wander into the effects and transitions library on offer and then just go hogwild at the vast number of things in there!

By just pointing and clicking you can make all sorts of crazy stuff happen!

Rule number one is and has always been: Just becuase you can, doesn’t mean you should!

How to Create a Presentation Video in Filmora 12 – Keyframing for Noobs

Even if you are not interested in creating this specific type of video or are not even using Filmora, this one is worth watching.

The key here is the technique of buliding up a projects and using features such as keyframing to add life and interest to your project.

What is Auto Reframe by Filmora?

One of the pains of modern video content creation is the fact that it seems like every social platform requires a different aspect ratio for uploads. 16:9 for YouTube, 1:1 for Facebook, 9:16 for Instagram and on it goes.

Repurposing and reformatting from one format to the other is often a slow process if the subject keeps moving within the frame.

In Filmora a few versions back they introduced a feature called auto Reframe to help with this problem.

It is not exactly a perfect solution but goes a long way in reducing the pain!

The feature has the ability to identify the subject of a given video then intelligently crop the video to a new aspect ration making sure the subject stays in the frame.

As I said, not perfect but the amount of time it saves can be quite significant.
