Generally speaking Casey Faris makes almost all of his content from the perspective of using DaVinci Resolve.
This one is a little different in that although he demonstrates what he is talking about in Resolve the actual subject of the video is the act of Editing itself.
In other words what he is showing is truly universal and has absolutely nothing to do with what editing software you are using.

Unfortunately the way his site is set up is that you have to add the free LUTs to a Shopping Cart then checkout (at zero cost) after providing name, email address etc, so its up to you.
They are very good LUTs though.
Adding Depth to Your Images – 7 Filmmaking Tips
One of the key points that separates an ordinary shot from and extraordinary one is through the creation of depth.
As an amateur video maker very often your ability to create depth is somewhat limited by the equipment you are using.
Small cameras or even phones with tiny lenses, tiny sensors and a lack of manual controls do not really lend themselves to creating depth.
Their point and shoot nature means that they are designed to capture everything in the scene and if possible have everything in focus.
That’s pretty much the opposite of what any decent cinematographer is trying to do!
There are however ways in which you can arrange the objects within a given shot even under these circumstance to create depth.
Even if you are just thinking in terms of “layers” in your shots you can lift those images up to a higher level.

Some great tips here for not only using a teleprompter for your video work but some suggestions for Apps that you can use on your phone.
Bear in mind that the best way to approach this is by treating the teleprompter as a stepping stone.
The ideal scene would be to eventually not use one and just present from notes as this always comes across far more naturally and helps you connect with your audience.

This is very short and very accurate!
OK, so the 180 shutter speed rule comes from pro cinematography and as such is a bit of a misnaming at our level.
Basically it means that in order to get the most natural looking motion in your videos you should be shooting at a shutter speed that is as close as possible to twice the frame rate.

The effect itself relies on basically two things.
Reasonably static subjects in the video footage being treated and the ability of your software to create masks.
This one is very easy to do and incredibly effective in the way that it draws the viewers attention to the screen.

Animated Split Screen Transitions – Wondershare FilmoraPro
This is a good example of building a transition specific to your footage rather than just adding some kind of preset transition.
Remember, professional video editors rarely use preset or “out of the box” transitions in their work.
They are far more likely to use straight cuts, J-cuts, L-cuts or crossfades and when it comes to using something else they will build the transition themselves.

This is quite a good workflow that is quite specific to CyberLink PowerDirector.
It is part setup and part workflow but a good run through of editing in PD from start to finish the most efficient way.
It generally follows the rules of most standard workflows and can be easily adapted to suit your own video editing software.
The workflow itself is importing and preparing the library, selecting and trimming clips, building the story, color correction and grading, audio design, FX and titles finishing with render settings and final output.

Just a simple technique shown here for using a mask to close down the shot and make the audience focus on the action or a specific part of it.
Although done here in PowerDirector, any software with basic masking can replicate the effect.
