There are two groups of people, those who would directly hit the Like button on my post, others will have to wait till Facebook delivers a dedicated Un-Like button (meanwhile they can comment on the post). Facebook was founded on February 4, 2004 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States by Mark Zuckerberg, Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum and Chris Hughes.

The movie title says it all ‘The Social Network’. Networking in today’s world is the key but rather than meet people face to face, you are not connecting with them via Posts, Comments, Photos, Videos, Likes, Share, Friends Request, Follow and much more. Find old friends.

Here are the few observations:

• There are people who wake up in the morning and even before getting out of bed, check Facebook on their mobile devices to know what’s going on with their friends and family.
• There are those who have a strong compulsion to check their posts – how many people liked it, how many commented and if no one has performed any of these actions on their post then they refresh the page or even curse their internet connection.
• And the occasional ex-tracking. Yes, stay up-to-date on your ex-boyfriend, girlfriend or spouse’s online activity, even their dating activity. That’s not creepy at all because once upon a time you did love them!
• Occasional Husband & Wife’s I Love you declaration posts on each others Facebook wall even if they just had a fight at home, but it is important that their friends know of their love for one another on Facebook
• Cats videos – Thug cat, cats annoying dogs, sleepy cats and much more. Cuteness overload!
• Everyone is a professional photographer and have moved from the Auto Mode on their DSLR camera to Manual Mode – Aperture, ISO, Exposure, etc. One ponders how Nikon and Canon units sold are still decreasing YoY.
• Game requests – I need a Life on Candy Crush and please tend to my farm on Farmville. Enough said, Blocked!
• Study groups helps in connecting with your classmates, discuss topics, assignments, share ideas and even create Events – partying is a must for college students!
• Entire family is on Facebook so share photos of family outings, graduation, wedding and so on. It is a good place to upload your photo albums, tag people and Facebook even reminds you of your old photos as memories.
• Stay connected with brands which you associate yourself with.
• Search for job opportunities (I did get a job through my Alumni network Facebook group)
• Facebook has implemented a new feature called Safety Check which notifies you about natural disasters, helps you notify your friends and family about your safety and also check if people whom you know are safe.
• Users have also found options to buy and sell items.
• Facebook Live Video – Multiple studies have concluded that video engagement is higher on Facebook than on YouTube, Vimeo, etc. so it gives an opportunity to become the go-to live-streaming app rather quickly.
