Why You Need a Tripod?

The Tripod has been recognized as the supreme photographic accessory ever discovered. Almost all professional photographer use tripods, and many prominent pros shoot the images with a tripod-mounted camera. The tripod keeps the camera still and steady during the exposure and ensure outstanding image quality.

While everybody knows that a tripod helps in getting sharp pictures at slow Shutter Speeds, and gives a handy perch for capturing portraits or sceneries. Even at high shutter speeds of 1/250-1/1000 second range, pictures shot using a tripod are much sharper than those clicked handheld.

A tripod also enhances depth of field. If you need an extreme depth of field for vivid or imaginative effects, set your camera on manual or aperture-priority mode, select a low aperture, and use a sturdy tripod. Moreover, a tripod allows you to set a lesser ISO when shooting under any lighting situations because you can take sharp pictures at slower shutter speeds.

A tripod is the best image-control equipment, allowing you to compose the image flawlessly using its panning, tilting and center post height adjustments. Using a tripod is the only suitable way of capturing various frames accurately and the same image at different exposure settings allowing you to select the version you prefer in terms of depth of field, tonal range, etc.

There are a number of situations where a tripod is important or highly helpful, such as, shooting time exposures, night photography, taking selfie using the self-timer, remote photography, and identification photography where repeatability is required, and you need to haze the background by panning the camera. There’s no alternative for a tripod in achieving easy panning and tilting when shooting movies and videos.

Finally, a tripod is really useful in making you slow down and think about the image you are clicking and getting the framing right. With a tripod you can easily adjust your camera into any positions and places. You can place the camera anywhere from just inches off the ground to way above the eye level.
