Online Bookstore Sees Growth of 150% Using SellerActive

SellerActive helped Bookbyte, a leading used textbook retailer in the Pacific Northwest, achieve explosive growth in 2015 due in huge part to the SaaS company's Inventory Management platform.

Portland Business Journal ranked Bookbyte 38th on the list of top 100 fastest growing private companies of 2015 with over 150% growth. From humble beginnings operating out of a closet,
Bookbyte is now one of the largest and longest-running used textbook retailers on the west coast. The story of Bookbyte and SellerActive's partnership is a unique one.
Bookbyte executives Jason Harra and Bryan Hockett needed automated tools that would equip them to keep up with the huge volume the business was seeing in a time when there were no multichannel Inventory Management solutions available. So they created their own.
SellerActive was born directly from the inventory management source code created for Bookbyte. In its first iteration, Selleractive Helped Bookbyte gather market data, update price changes, and synchronize orders in one database. Thirteen years later, the software has been refined and improved with new tools to help busy online retailers selling on multiple marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, and their own website.
"There was no one doing what we needed at the time. We were one of the first to create an inventory management system with everything a multichannel business needs from gathering market data to efficiently finding the best carrier price instantly," said Bryan Hockett, vice president of Bookbyte. "We designed the platform to not only help us keep up with the orders we were seeing, but to enable Bookbyte to sell even more."
SellerActive has become one of the leading inventory management software companies in the Pacific Northwest, tripling their customer count in 2015.
"It's so gratifying to continue to see year-over-year success with Bookbyte -- that's where it all started. It's even better that we can watch our clients succeed and help their businesses grow using the same software," said Jason Harra, co-founder of SellerActive.
