Design
From the design standpoint, this is one of the cleanest monitors on the market right now. It has a simple design, and there is nothing that will take that away from this display. The bezels are not that big, and that’s important if you are going to spend quite some time in front of your monitor.
The buttons on the bottom bezel are easy to access and do what they are supposed to. The stand does a good job, and there is no wobbling. You can tilt the monitor front and back to a certain degree, and that’s it. There is no option to adjust the height or to swivel it which is a slight disappointment. There are also no speakers in this monitor, and that should be noted as well.
Dell SE2416HX Specs
We are looking at a 23.8-inch widescreen display that comes with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The screen also comes with a native aspect ratio of 16:9. This aspect ratio is pretty good for watching movies and other kinds of media.
The panel here is an IPS one, and that’s an advantage as well. You get excellent viewing angles (178 degrees to be accurate), and that allows you to view the content on the screen from any corner in the room without any big change or distortion in image detail.
The monitor has an anti-glare 3H coating that helps in reducing glare when working in well-lit areas. The Dell SE2416HX also comes with good support for color gamuts. With a standard contrast ratio of 1000:1, you can observe around 16.7 million colors which is brilliant for this price. The dynamic contrast ratio is also a pretty good number at 8 million:1.
The display can get very bright. The maximum brightness here is 250cd/m2 which may not look that impressive, but will prove handy when you are working amid a lot of lights.
We have a decent response time at 6ms. This is nowhere as good as the gaming monitors but still helps in reducing the motion blur to some extent. You can see the fast moving objects without any ghosting effects (or minimal ghosting) which is pretty good.
The display is a great fit for watching movies, TV shows, and playing games as well. If you are someone who works on pictures and videos, you will also have a good time working on this display.
The Dell SE2416HX monitor comes with a 3-year limited hardware warranty that can come in very useful as time passes. This is also a very good monitor in an environment point of view as well, as it meets various standards like EPEAT, ENERGY STAR, CECP certified, and TCO-certified displays.
