To manage any project effectively, it needs to be clearly planned. Even moreimportant, the considerable time that can be saved in planning can then be used to maximise profit.

It can be very helpful for a project manager to simply to be aware ofthe four phases of the project Management process. These are

The actual project management process can be described very simply as follows

Starting Plan

The project plan.  This will highlight the beginning to the project that will lead up to the launch of a new initiative, tool, or service.  It will not, however, be a single document that will cover all aspects of the project, but rather a more practical list of actions and resources that will help deliver the outcomes that will be expected from the activity of the project.

This will be captured under the project name and will be categorised under the generic heading Project Management.

 Initiating the project

This phase is the bit where the manager and project team start making the plans for the project.  It can be a formal project plan or not.  Sometimes the broad guidelines for such planning purposes can be captured outside the organisation in the organization’s policy or procedure.

Implementing the project

When something has been formally introduced into a project, it is processed as part of the project.  It also means that quite often an external party (e.g. an auditor) will give feedback on the work in progress and if the project is a Jane perpetrators’ bad idea, it will appear as a conflict within the organisation, even if it was not actually such.

Closing the project

Closing the process of a project is where the manager guides the team to close the project.  At the end of a project this is how the project management record is closed.  At the end of a project this is how the project delivery process will be undertaken.  With this data, it is possible to align the business case, demonstrate ROI and achieve a passing score

The plan provides the manager and team with the design.  It contains the design principles, time lines, financial goals and other milestones.  If the person responsible for project management lets down just for one week, significant problems could result.  The thoughts and ideas necessary for the organisations success could easily be lost overnight and provide sufficient grounds for wasted time and resources, costing more than they would have cost in the first place, and work to ensure that the same things do not happen again.

The review phase of the project plan is where actual progress is compared to the design and is based on reviews often made by external parties (e.g. site visitors, senior managers etc).

The implementing phase is when the plans are put into action to ensure that the project successfully meets all expectations that were set.  This happens when the project team delivers the outcomes that were promised when the project was implemented.

During this working phase the project manager will be ready for action (i.e. implementation), where they will want action to be taken to ensure that the outcomes are adhered to within the time frame.

The closing phase is the actual status and check of the project.  Of course the final product is deliverable but this can be limited with a good project construction transposal.  The team provides feedback and reviews how well the whole effort has been completed.

The planning phase defines the tasks that need to be undertaken, the measures of success for each task, and the timetable that those tasks will take.  It will also establish things like the scope of the project, who needs to be involved, who the stakeholders are, how resources will be allocated and how the project schedule will fit into the whole operation.

Executing the project

During this phase, the DoDefer tasks up to completion and provides feedback and sign-off.
