The laptop comes with a metal build with a black color scheme. This is easily one of the best-designed laptops you are going to get in this price range. This is not the lightest or the sleekest laptop out there. Being a gaming laptop, this MSI GL72M 7RDX-800 model does come with some love handles.
On opening the lid, you can see the beautiful SteelSeries keyboard. The keys come with red backlighting and have a key travel of 1.9mm. This key travel gives the user a good typing experience. There is also an optimum WASD zone which is perfect for gamers. The touchpad is decent and gets the job done.
The cooling in the MSI GL72M 7RDX-800 laptop is pretty cool. The cooling system is called the cooler boost 4 and it consists of 6 to 7 heat pipes. There are two fans that run whenever there is a need for heat control.
The Nahimic 2 audio enhancement gives a good hand when it comes to the audio output of this laptop. There is little to no distortion even at very high volumes. Regardless of how good the speakers are it is better for you to get a nice headphone for gaming.
Being a 17.3-inch laptop, it only weighs 6 pounds. It might not be easy to fit this in every backpack but you can surely carry this laptop around if you have to. Overall, a pretty neat design and it works as promised.

There are a few good things when it comes to this laptop. We have a 17.3-inch widescreen LED-backlit display that comes with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display shows accurate colors for a laptop and comes with a good contrast ratio. It is a very neat screen for watching media content like Netflix, HBO and others as well.
One of the main selling features here is that it is also a non-reflective screen. This is a much-needed addition to gaming laptops as reflections on the screen are usually seen as distractions. Since most of the tournament halls are well lit, you can now game without having to see unnecessary reflections of others.

You can run even some of the most recent games at high settings. Frame rates are pretty good for many games that too at high settings. If you want to play some really graphically intensive games, then we suggest you bring down the settings a bit in order to get a playable frame rate.
For storage, we have a 1TB 5400RPM hard drive and also a 128GB SATA M.2 solid state drive. This is a clever implementation of a hybrid drive and gives you the best of both performance and space. The hard drive gives you all the space you will ever need while the SSD keeps the speed in check.
The solid state drive comes pre-installed with a copy of Windows 10. This is the latest operating system from Microsoft and you should have a pleasant experience with that as well.
