Jayne's Pick 1: New UK Fitness App For iOS Pays Your For The Steps You Take
Not all of us are motivated to exercise solely by the need to lose weight or get in shape. Couch potatoes like my good self need incentives to get moving - sometimes the carrot just works better than the stick.
For lazy bums like me, a brand new app forces you to get on your feet and start moving buy paying you for the steps you take! Similiar in concept to Bitwalking, the UK-based Sweatcoin for iOS tracks and verifies your steps using your phone’s accelerometers and GPS location, and converts your movement into a currency that you can spend on real life goods, service and experiences.
For every 1000 steps verified by the app, you'll earn 1 'sweatcoin', which are redeemable against some pretty cool rewards, "ranging from anti-gravity yoga classes, to high-tech shoes, to iPhones and Apple Watches, " according to the official website.

Pick 2: As Europe Still Waits, 55 More Banks Sign Up To Android Pay In The US
While Brits like me sit itchy with anticipation for Android Pay to hit the UK and other European stores (patience, little grasshoppers, it's coming 'soon'), another huge wave of US banks have signed up for the scheme.
55 financial intuitions, including 45 big banks and credit unions, and 9 smaller banks have all added their names to the roster of Android Pay participating banks in the US, bringing the total to 102, and further cementing it as the mobile payment method of the future.
Does your bank feature in the new line-up?

Pick 3: Gboard Adds The Google Search Box To Your iOS Keyboard
If you own an iPhone, then Google wants to put the power of its search box at your fingertips, no matter what app you are using.
Here comes Gboard, a new iOS keyboard app that has a search engine embedded into the keyboard, allowing you to find and share information, GIFs, and even the right emoji, without ever having to switch screens.
Anything you’d search on Google, you can search with Gboard. Results appear as cards with the key information front and center, such as the phone number, ratings and hours. So if you're in say a WhatsApp chat, with one tap, you can send it to your friend and you keep the conversation going.

Ana's Pick 1: Big Updates For Periscope Include Streaming From Drones And More
The competition for the best live video app right now is hotting up. Last month, we brought news about big changes to Facebook Live, but this week, all eyes are on Periscope (Android, iOS). The app that lets you "see the world through the eyes of somebody else" is about to release a massive update with some exciting new additions.
The most exciting news has to be a cool drone partnership with DJI which will not only let users transmit live drone footage from the DJI camera, but they can also switch back to the phone that's controlling it for video from there too. On top of that it'll even switch to your GoPro too, allowing for huge production potential.
Other new features users will be happy to see is the option to permanently save videos, include comments and user likes. You'll still be able to set the videos for deletion if you're happy with things the way they are, or configure your profile for videos to self-destruct after 24 hours.

Pick 2: Instagram Changes Its Logo And The Internet Freaks Out
Everyone's taking about it. Instagram (Android, iOS), with no prior warning or notice, has gone and changed it's logo, just like that. And it hasn't stopped there. The world's favorite photo sharing app has also revamped the look of its other apps Hyperlapse, Layout (Android, iOS) and Boomerang (Android, iOS).
And with 80 million photos uploaded each day on Instagram, it's not a change that will go unnoticed.
The revamp hasn't been limited to Instagram's logo, which has ditched its vintage camera in favor of a flat logo with gradient rainbow colors. There has been a huge overhaul of how it looks on the inside as well, with a simpler, more minimalist design that puts more focus on your photos and videos, without changing how users navigate the app (because we're all still worried about that algorithm).
