XEROX 7655: DRUM REMOVAL AND INSTALL
The drum cartridge replacement procedure in your Xerox WorkCentre 7655 Multifunction Laser System should be executed while the system is on, otherwise all information stored in the printer`s memory will be erased/lost. You should also be aware, that any excessive (more than 2 minutes) exposure of the drum cartridge to direct sunlight or even strong indoor fluorescent lighting could damage the drum, which will result in decreased printing quality afterwards.
Initially, you must open the front door of your Xerox WorkCentre 7655 Multifunction Laser System. After that, you must pull down the R1-R4 lever/handle and raise the drum release handle. Then, you must prepare the new drum cartridge by removing both the transport covering and the protective film. Now, you must open the drum drawer and remove the exhausted drum cartridge from the printer by holding the finger rings at the both ends and slowly lifting the cartridge up. After that, you must grab the new drum cartridge by its finger rings (do not touch the drum surface) and align it with the marked printer guides. Immediately after the alignment, you must place the drum cartridge in horizontal position by pressing both cartridge ends and then quickly close the drum drawer. Finally, you must return both the release handle and the R1-R4 lever to their original positions and close the front door of your Xerox WorkCentre 7655 Multifunction Laser System.
