We were amazed when we stumbled upon Keyport’s mechanical keychain, the Keyport Slide. Now they’ve debuted a new project that not only expands the Slide, but stands on its own as a Lego-like multitool. Why Legos? Because of the stacking function they’ve built into the modules that let’s you build your own pocket-tool.
They call them the Anywhere Tools, and they’re described as a modular everyday carry system. The segments are divided between mid-modules that stack in any order, and outer-modules that cap either end. They can also mount onto existing Keyport Slides or Keyport Pivot keychains.
Think of it as a sophisticated alternative to Batman’s utility belt… minus the extra 10 pounds, the shiny yellow belt, and the need to wear tights to pull off that whole look.
There are four modules that each work for a variety of uses:
MOCA II Multitool Module
The MOCA II is Anywhere Tools task master and has 11 tools built-in including:
- Bottle Opener
- Flathead Screwdriver
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Cord Cutter
- Box Opener
- Scoring Tool
- Hex Bit Driver
- 1/4 inch Wrench
- 5/16 inch Wrench
- 3/8 inch Wrench
- 1 inch Ruler
- 1 cm Ruler
NEBA Knife Module
The stackable knife module flips out to expose a 2″ blade.
Pocket Flare Module
The Pocket Flare is a mini flashlight module that has both a front beam, and lantern style light that illuminates around the edges of the module. The front beam casts 27 lumens of light and is rechargeable via USB.
WeeLink Charger Cable Module
The WeeLink is a handy adapter that lets you quickly charge your devices via USB. While not providing a dedicated portable battery, the module allows you to connect your Micro USB, Lightning or USB-C devices to any standard USB port.
Keyport has already well exceeded their funding goal for the Anywhere Tools, meaning they’re on track to ship out by late October 2018. You can currently pre-order their early-bird starter kit on Kickstarter for $20.
