The Future Of Internet Connectivity In Africa

There have been many discussions about Internet Connectivity in Africa. The whole world is giving its view about how the development of Internet connection in Africa would help in its progress.Africa’s government is continuously making progress in this context. So, in such a situation, there are many hopes of a better and developed future of Internet connectivity in Africa.

·         With only 15% of houses in Africa having an Internet connection, the propaganda of many companies aims at improving and extending the VSAT internet in Africa. This is considered a better option as compared to broadband connectivity in areas having a low- connectivity rate.

·         Although Africa accounts for the third-largest Internet user in the world, the proportion of internet users is very meager as compared to the population. Government and various private companies have made plans to extend internet connection and broadband facilities to less developed areas and also reduce the cost to make internet connection more economical.

·         The future of the internet in Africa also depends on the development of people to some extent. A large proportion of the African population is not educated and skilled enough to make progressive use of the internet. The government is promoting education and vocational training programs to endure the use of the internet among common people.

·         Studies show that less than 1% people in Africa have access to broadband connections in Africa. There are various reasons for this low progress rate, like poor connectivity, low rates, lack of resources, etc. Making broadband connections accessible to people is also a primary agenda of the government of Africa.

Many inspections have been made regarding Africa’s future development, but only time will tell the extent to which Africa’s economy lives up to the expectations!
