Universities and colleges are competitive when it comes to science! And it is more confusing for a Student of biology considering a mix of subjects available such as zoology and the newer versions like Bioinformatics! Biology has opened up with great opportunities but the lack of awareness regarding the same continues. The pressures of obtaining a seat in any field you desire later and the confusion over opting for a stream along with the lack of knowledge about the available choices become a pressing problem for biology students.

In a cesspool of available options, Embryology happens to be the one that offers prospects of an exciting career! But many times, students are unaware and even if they are aware, they don’t know how to approach and even get a sense of the developments in the same.

EART (Embryology Academy for Research and Training) conducted an orientation session on February 15th, 2020 where all the intricacies and the basics of embryology and IVF were imparted to a set of students studying in the science stream of a degree college. The students (more than 20 in number) along with their esteemed faculty from ‘Royal College of Arts, Science and Commerce’ located at Mira road, participated in the seminar. This was the third edition of an Educational Orientation from the same college as the previous two have been successfully conducted before.

The sessions were conducted by the EART team who imparted theoretical knowledge as well as held a few practical demonstrations in the lab! From basics and Andrology to advanced procedures such as ICSI, the students were apprised about challenges and opportunities in the field of embryology. The sessions also discussed future avenues in embryology, clinical research and prospects.

The event was highly interactive and it helped spread crucial know-how about the possibility of opting to be an embryologist in the future. The event held on the premises of EART was a resounding success and the students gained a good insight into IVF and Embryology.
