The right way to buy:
When buying a projector, the key factors you need to consider are colour reproduction, contrast ratio, HDMI interface and 3D brightness of the projector. Also check the pricing of 3D glasses and any possible replecement.
3D projector |
Brightness: Make sure that the projector has enough firepower to project in a partially or fully lit room. Choose one with minimum brightness of 2000 lumens. For 3D viewing you need a projector that is capable of projecting bright images (1800 to 2500 lumens).
3D projector |
Portable: Today, 3D projectors have become a lot more compact and light-weight. Being portable also means that the installation and setting up of the device is easier, so it becomes convenient to try out the projector for various screen sizes and distances in order to choose the room where the projector delivers the best.
3D projector |
Connectivity: Connectivity options include HDMI, DVI, Video, VGA, USB, AV receivers, CEC (consumer electronics control) connection and Ethernet data connection. HDMI and USB ports, in particular, have become popular with urers these days. Select a projector that offers at least these two connectivity options.
Overhead projector |
Resolution: The projector should have a minimum of 720p resolution in order to ensure the best performance from a Blu-ray player, high definition gaming console and other high resolution devices.
i Phone projector |
Colour reproduction: Check for natural tones and colour depth in the images produced by the projector. Also look at how colours are delivered in the brightest and darkest areas of the image. While there is no correct measure of colour reproduction as each eye has varied sense of colour perception, make sure that the content displayed suits your needs.
Mobile projector |
Contrast ratio: Contrast ratio basically complements the brightness on the display. A projector might have a high jumens rating, but if the contrast ratio is low the image will look washed out. When buying a projector, contrast ratio of 1500:1 or higher is the minimum requirement.
Waterproof 3D Glasses |
Glasses: 3D-compatible video source, 3D glasses and 3D content are a must for watching content on 3D projectors. Check whether the projector comes with 3D glasses (which is mostly the case)
