Dark History Tour

Last night I went on a 2 hour dark history tour in Gawler, the price is normally $30 but me and a group of friends used our Groupon vouchers costing us just $15 each yay. The tour was focused mainly on the history of Gawler, Alison, one of the tour guides, and owner of the business, told us many stories along the tour.

The tour goes for two hours and you get taken to many old buildings places around Gawler and told the history of them, such as Dead Mans Pass and how it got that name.

It was very interesting to hear about one of the parks which used to be a cemetery, they removed all the gravestones but the 400+ bodies were still buried underneath the park, they have a plaque in the park that lists all the names and their ages and interestingly most of them are very very young, some a couple days old and some a few months old, and one of the names actually said "(A married woman)" so that could be anybody.

it's quite unfortunate that we couldn't go into any of the buildings, Alison said she has tried to get us into them but has been unsuccessful, she said she offered everything she could to get us into the library which has rooms underneath but was unsuccessful.

We didn't see any ghosts or anything but its a very nice tour to go on to listen to some stories and history about Gawler and I would recommend it if your interested in paranormal things, you can check out Alison's tours at the following link: adelaidehauntedhorizons.com.au
