Windows 7 has a built in defragmentation tool.
1. Click the Start button> All Programs> Accessories>System Tools and select Disk Defragmenter.
2. Your computer now may ask for administrative permission. Hit Defragment Now.

A Windows 8 PC, laptop or tablet performs defragmentation itself by default in definite time intervals, with the help of scheduled task: Optimize Drives. If you aren't sure about manually defrag your drive.
1. First open my computer got to the properties of the hard disk you want to Defrag.
2. Go to the tools tab and then click optimize.
3. Click the analyze button to check whether the hard disk needs defrag or not. If necessary click on optimize.
