Zuck’s Jarvis has got Elder and More Advanced Siblings

When Iron man introduced Jarvis first time in 2008, it’s a bit tough to have such a personal assistant. Jarvis was an epitome of Tony’s skills in artificial intelligence. Today, the Jarvis has entered into the real world and its Tony Stark is our beloved Zuck.

Zuck’s Jarvis helps us see how the future is going to be where the confluence of machine learning and IoT will be commonplace.

Zuck acquisition of Parse in 2013 for $85 million makes more sense than ever now. He went vocal last year about his wish to have a personal assistance of Jarvis kind. And by the end of the year, his video on FB left most of the world in the state of awe!

Tony must be jealous as he isn’t the only one who owns such assistance now.

There are going to be brothers and sisters of Jarvis!

Zuck has started a race, I must say. He has showcased the world that a real Jarvis is possible. An intelligent digital assistance combined with IoT could do the job.

Besides that, by 2020, a report by MarketandMarkets says that IOT is going to be a trillion dollar industry. Thus, there are high chances of it being commonplace.

Also, when comes to a smart assistance, companies like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon already have one. Further, an assistant of all of these tech giants is elder siblings of Jarvis. Below is a small account of who they are:

  1. Google Assistant

Google Assistant is something in line with Zuck’s Jarvis. We all know Google is answering our queries since 2000. And their assistant is doing the same job. You can ask it anything and it will help you out.

Not only it follows your command but it’s your ardent fan, too. It keeps on learning more about you – your favorite services, room temperature you like, TV show you watch, etc – over the period of time.

Google has introduced it already in their smartphone Pixel. But this isn’t limited to smartphones only, Google Assistant will extend its hands at your futuristic smart home, through your watch, or in your car.

  1. Apple’s Siri

Apple’s Siri is the first personal assistance the world has seen. No doubt, it is equally cool and intelligent and can answer most questions in a matter of seconds. Before Google Assistant and Mark’s Jarvis, Siri was the only girl taking care of its users.

Like Cortana, Siri is available for smartphone and PC as well. Apple has plan to launch it in bring this assistant in its smart TV.

Apple launched Siri in iPhone 4S since then Siri has become more intelligent.Today, it can do intelligent image searches, payment transactions and can reply to text messages.

  1. Microsoft’s Cortana

Microsoft introduced its personal assistance Cortana with the release of its latest operating system Windows 10 for both smartphone and PCs.

There are several things you can do with Cortana. Like Siri and Google Now, it can set reminders, accept voice commands, suggests you a song, tracks flights and packages, launches any program and many more.

At present, users are reluctant to choose Window OS over Android. Thus, we may find Cortana in fewer devices as compared to Siri or Google Assistant.

A recent cross patent licensing deal with Xiaomi, however, bring Cortana in many Xiaomi’s devices.

  1. Amazon’s Alexa

Alexa is developed by Amazon for its devices like Amazon Echo. Well, if we compare Alexa to the other above, it seems like lacking. What I can say is that Alexa is a beginner and it has a long way to go.

However, Alexa can’t be ignored, whatsoever. It’s considered to be a killing personal assistant for a smart home. Also, as per Wired, Alexa is the darling of CES 2017.

Amazon is about to release something disruptive in the smart home segment soon, I believe.

  1. Samsung Viv

Samsung has been working on its personal assistant for quite some time. Earlier we all have seen Galaxy as a personal assistant in Samsung smartphone. Last year, however, Samsung acquired Viv, an artificial intelligence company by the founders of Siri, Inc.

Being the leading company of smartphone domain, Samsung knows that the future belongs to IoT and digital assistants. And it can’t do without one when the smartphone industry has become highly commoditized.
