Solution No.2

There are times when your phone has not been used for some days when you switch on the phone your apps might crash and freeze. The problem could be because of the cached data present on your device and in order to clear the cache data you need to go to Settings > General > Storage and USB and click on Cached data and then OK to delete it.

Solution No.3

Freezing or crashing could happen because of excessive memory use also. You can go to Settings > General > Memory > Memory used by apps and check for anything which is using a lot of memory space. There could be a faulty third party app which is the cause of the problem. You can then turn on the Safe Mode and see if everything works fine. If it does, one of the apps you installed is causing the issue. To enter Safe mode, press and hold the Power Button and select Power Off and hold till the Safe Mode box is visible on the screen, after which you can select Turn On.

You can test your LG G5 in the Safe Mode and if the problem does not exist then you can be sure about the problem being caused by a third party app. You can then uninstall all the apps one at a time and check your phone.
