Smart Home is the next big thing which is taking technology to a next level. Homes are now becoming smart, with a single smartphone we can control the electronic devices in our homes.  All you need is a smart home hub which can connect to all your electronic devices in the house.  Apple has come up with something very special this WWDC , which is its new iOS 10 . There are off course many new features coming up with the new software but one if its amazing feature will turn Ipad into Smart Home Hub, which means you don’t need Apple TV for that. If you have a iPad in your home , you can turn that into Smart Home Hub for HomeKit devices.

Apple said at the WWDC Keynote that,  “People don’t really need Apple TV running the upcoming version of tvOS acts as a home hub , they can use something else.  In fact, if they have iPad , they can use it as a Home Hub for HomeKit instead”.  A single iPad can now turn your home into a Smart Home.

Apple confirmed Slashgear, that in order to use iPad as a Home hub , it has to be permanently connected to power and Wi-fi, unplugging from the charger will disconnect it completely and you cannot connect to your Smart Home remotely.  One of the benefit of having a Home Hub is to connect to your Smart Home remotely while you are at work or on a holiday.

Apple’s motive to give iPad these capabilities is to ensure that some countries like China, where Apple TV is not available, can use iPad as a Home Hub for Homekit devices.  Are you ready to turn your house into a smart home, just wait for the release of iOS 10 this coming fall. The beta release will be coming in July. Till then make sure you have your iPad ready , if not then buy a new one.
