WWE secures $5B agreement with Netflix

WWE enthusiasts can expect to spend their Monday nights on Netflix soon, following a colossal agreement between the wrestling organization and the streaming service to air “RAW” in 2025.

The deal is worth $5 billion and spans 10 years, a move both companies expressed their excitement over.

Describing the deal as transformative, TKO President and COO Mark Shapiro shared that the deal guarantees the unmissable WWE content will be paired with Netflix’s vast global reach, ensuring substantial and foreseeable profits for the years to come.

Netflix executive Bela Bajaria shared, “By blending our reach, recommendations, and fandom with WWE, we’ll offer more delight and value to their audiences and our subscribers.”

“RAW” has been a mainstay of cable TV, airing on USA Network, since 1993. WWE revealed that the program has seen tremendous success in this platform, attracting over 17 million unique viewers in a year.

However, it appears both parties believe that transitioning to streaming will increase its reach. WWE president Nick Khan views Netflix as the perfect long-term haven for the live, loyal, and continuously expanding fan base of “Raw”.

The switch will formally take effect in January 2025.
