Instagram is now allowing select users to include Polls in the comments on their posts, providing creators with an additional means of enhancing content engagement.

Adam Mosseri, Instagram’s head, announced this on his broadcast channel, mentioning that polls can now be integrated into comments for both regular feed posts and Reels.

Though it’s currently a limited test, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that this feature will be “rolling out to everyone soon.”

Polls within the comments section will appear similarly to their presentation in Stories, where they have been available to users for several years in the form of a sticker.

The above screenshot by Mosseri shows that other users will be able to view the number of participants in a given poll.

The duration for which polls will remain open after posting, as well as whether users can choose from various time frames for ongoing voting, like on Twitter, remains unclear.

Instagram has been testing this feature since April, with early variations observed in tests reported by Alessandro Paluzzi.

Polls have proven to be a well-received feature in other platforms and applications. Their straightforward, user-friendly nature makes it easy for viewers to express their opinions and interact with a user’s content.

Polls also serve as a valuable tool for brands and creators to collect feedback and boost their profile engagement rates, given the simplified response that facilitates a higher volume of interactions and positive signals for algorithms.
