Sony Wants To Bring PlayStation Games To Smartphones

Sony announced today that it will form a new company called “Forward Works” which will focus on smartphone games. Frame Works will Bring Playstation titles to Android and iOS devices. Though it looks like this decision made right after Nintendo’s success with their first smartphone game launch.

There’s no telling when we’d get to see its first titles, but Sony says Frame Works will focus on Japan and Asian video game market and that’s a bit disappointing but there’s good news, Sony in a statement hints that its mobile games will be “full-fledged,” which means users will be getting serious titles to play with, at least this is a different approach from Nintendo’s Miitomo game launch which was basically a social media app users could use to connect to other players. Hardcore Nintendo fans might actually enjoy this since Miitomo is very much like the ‘Miis’ you can create with the Nintendo Wii.

Sony Computer Entertainment’s head in Japan and Asia, Atsushi Morita, will lead Forward Works. Frameworks will begin operations on April 1 the same time that Sony Computer Entertainment becomes Sony Interactive Entertainment, so perhaps we might get to know more after that.
