Apple Music Student Membership expands to 82 countries including Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya

Apple has announced the availability of Apple Music Student Membership plan in 82 countries this month. It is now available in 79 countries and three other countries will be added on the 26th of February. It was first launched in 2016

The Apple Music Student Membership plan offers eligible students a discounted monthly subscription for Apple Music. While the normal individual subscription normally goes for $9.99 per month in the US, the the discount allows students in the United States to subscribe for $4.99 per month. The discount is available for 48 months (the duration of a four-year degree) and eligibility is verified through UNiDAYS.

Some of the African countries in which the discounted student plan is available, include Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Botswana, Mozambique and Gambia.

When you join Apple Music as a student, UNiDAYS, a student validation service, confirms that you’re enrolled in a degree-granting university or college.

Periodically, UNiDAYS re-validates your student status. If UNiDAYS finds that you’re no longer a student or if you have a Student subscription for a full 48 months, your subscription automatically becomes an Apple Music Individual subscription.
