Enable Click-to-Play plugins in popular browsers

Most of the plugins are loaded once you have your browser launched. However, there is a “click-to-play” plugin that you need to enable in your browser. Enabling this plugin will let you preserve the download bandwidth, page load times increases, CPU usages reduces and if you happen to have a laptop, then the good news is that the battery life is extended. Let us walk you through the methods of enabling this plugin in different browsers.

Mozilla Firefox

Unfortunately, there is no way to enable click-to-play plugin for flash from the bulit-in function of Mozilla Firefox. Alternatley, you can install Flashblock extension to enable the click-to-play plugin for flash.

Google Chrome

To enable click-to-play plugin, you need to click the Chrome menu button and choose ‘Settings’ option to open the ‘Settings’ page. Choose the ‘Show advanced settings’ option. Under ‘privacy’ section, you need to click on ‘Content Settings’ option. Scroll down to plugins and choose Click-to-play.

Internet Explorer

When it comes to Internet Explorer, you need to click on the gear icon and choose ‘Manage Add-ons’ option. Choose ‘Toolbars and Extensions’ option on the left pane of the window and then, choose Show box followed by clicking on ‘All add ons’ option. Under ‘Adobe Systems Incorporated’, locate ‘Shockwave Flash Object’ to right click on it. Choose ‘More Information’ option from the context menu. Click on ‘Remove all sites’ button. This will not let Flash automatically load on a website. This is it with Internet Explorer.
