NEW POKEMON GAMES PRETTY COOL

The new Pokemon games announced today, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, have a far more contemporary graphical look to them than games of yester year. They’re very pretty indeed and feature a variety of different gameplay view points, beyond the traditional 5th person top down.
Debuted today in a new trailer for the game, Pokemon X and Y also feature new Pokemon as you might expect, along with three new starting choices. The battles also look more cinematic, more in-line with the style of Pokemon Stadium games on the N64.

While there is a quick gameplay breakdown trailer, Nintendo also released a ten minute video, featuring Satoru Iwata who gives a run down on the Pokemon series, before getting to the new games.

Pokemon X and Y are set to become available on the 3DS in October 2013. A big change up for this generation of games, this will be the first time that a new Pokemon title has been released at the same time in Japan and the rest of the world.
I’ll still pick up and play my original Red and Silver Pokemon Games, though I’ve not tried any of the new ones. What do you think TJ  readers, am I missing out by not checking these out?
