Top 5 Tips to get More Traffic on your Blog

From Billie: There are so many ways to get more Traffic to your website or blog and today’s article will cover tips on how to use a “linky” to gain some monster traffic.

Below are some smart tips to help you get the same results.

Top Tips to Get Traffic

  • Read The Directions:

Every linky Party is different, and every host has different “rules.” Some want you to follow them via social media, and some require a link back to the post while others just ask for a link somewhere on your blog. Also, sometimes Parties will have themes that may change from week to week so just make sure to read before you link.

  • Finding Parties:

The excellent idea to find the best parties in your niche is to find a blog in your niche that links up and find out where they link up at. They may have a page listing all their parties or just check the bottom of their posts to see where they link up. There are also few websites, like Linky Here, that will break downlink parties by day and themes.

  • Getting to the top:

The closer to the top of a linky party you can get, the more traffic you will most likely get. Try to find out when the host publishes the party. Most publish on the same day and time every week. Also be aware that many parties begin the night before the day the party starts! So a Tuesday link party may begin Monday afternoon or evening.

  • Build Relationships:

I always follow my linky party hosts on at least one social media, often more, so I can build a relationship with them. I’ll tweet, pin, and +1 their posts throughout the week and have made a lot of great connections. If a host features me, I always thank them in the comments and share that featured post on my social media as well. Features bring good traffic and exposure so make sure to thank your host!

  • Watch Your Traffic and Pins:

My goal in joining linky parties is to not only get direct traffic but also to get my posts pinned. Once I started diligently linking up posts, I saw a huge increase in traffic from Pinterest. But joining link parties can take up a chunk of time so you’ll have to watch your traffic to see if it increases. If it doesn’t bring traffic, then you may want to re-think your link party strategy.
