Spotify is working on Tastebuds function

to Discover Music from friends
Spotify has put a test version of a feature called Tastebuds online as part of its desktop site. According to the company, the function allows users to discover music from friends ‘from whom they trust the taste of music’.

Spotify TastebudsThe test function can be found at https://open.spotify.com/tastebuds but is not working yet. The feature was discovered by Jane Manchun Wong who tells TechCrunch that users can click on the pen icon to find people they are following. They can then see what that person has listened to the most. They can also easily listen to those tracks or add them to their own library.

On the desktop, but not on the mobile, Spotify already has a ‘Discover what your friends are listening to’ function, but it works via Facebook. It is not known whether Tastebuds will replace this function. The other social functions of Spotify are relatively limited. However, users can share numbers with other users via social services such as Twitter, Messenger, Telegram and Skype.
