Xiaomi has released a new version of its 12.5 “Mi Notebook Air in China, with a Core i5-7Y54 processor, an economical dualcore, and earlier versions of Xiaomi Core m3 processors with a lower clock speed.

The new version of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5 has 4GB ram and a 256GB ssd. There are no other configurations in combination with the new processor. Xiaomi also keeps the older models with the Core m3-7Y30 and m3-6Y30 in its range.

The new model is also the same as the predecessor, where Tweakers published a review . The aluminum housing is about 13mm thick and weighs about 1.1kg. The 12.5 “screen has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and the laptop has an ips panel.

The Core i5-7Y54 processor is a dualcore with HyperThreading, a 4.5-watt tdp and a maximum turbo speed of 3.2GHz. It is a Kaby Lake processor, or an Intel cpu of the seventh generation. The Intel Core m3 variants of the sixth generation used by Xiaomi in the older models have a lower clock speed.

Xiaomi releases the Mi Notebook Air 12.5 in China for 4299 yuan, which is currently around 546 euros. This makes the new model more expensive than the older versions with Core m3, which are for sale from 3599 yuan, converted 458 euros. Although Xiaomi is now selling more and more smartphones in Europe, the laptops of the brand are not yet officially on the continent.
