H1Z1 will get a mobile version in the future

H1Z1 gets a mobile-port called Z1 Battle Royale. It is not yet known on which platforms the game will appear exactly. At the same time, development is about to start a mobile version of Everquest.

The reason for the development of the two new mobile titles is an investment by holding company Nantworks. How much the group invests in the American studio is not mentioned. In addition to one or more titles for mobile, the PC version of H1Z1: Battle Royale will also go through life under the name Z1 Battle Royale.

H1Z1 originally started as an online survival game with a zombie outbreak as its theme. The development started at the time when the popularity of that genre and games like DayZ were at their peak. However, the hype around that genre ebbed with the years gone and at one point the whole of the throne was struck by the battle royale. Developer Daybreak decided to move the development of H1Z1 in that direction, a move that Epic Games also made with Fortnite spinoff Fortnite: Battle Royale.

Z1 Battle Royale will not be the first to make the switch to mobile. Of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite: Battle Royale mobile versions are already available.
