sold between 2009 and 2011
Toshiba has started a recall for certain adapters that have been sold with laptops between 2009 and 2011 and have been provided for repairs. These are models with two pins; they are flammable. Copies with three pins do not pose a risk.
The warning can be found via the Product Warning website and via a page from Toshiba itself. Users can manually enter the part number and serial number of their adapter to check if it belongs to the product group that is at risk. It is also possible to check with a list which adapter and laptop models are at risk.
According to Toshiba, these are adapters sold between 2009 and 2011 for new laptops, mainly Satellite and Dynabook models. Only copies with two pins would be dangerous. This is not the case for copies with three pins. Affected users can receive a replacement adapter for free, according to the manufacturer.
