More than half of KPN’s Mobile subscribers also have a fixed subscription. This is evident from the quarterly figures of the provider. The number of mobile subscribers and how much they pay, declined in recent months.

Approximately 1.93 million subscribers combine their mobile subscription with fixed services from KPN, compared with 1.72 million who do not. The number of people with KPN Compleet, as the provider calls the combined services, increased by sixteen percent.

The mobile branch of KPN has 5.17 million customers, compared with 5.25 million a year ago. Of that 3.65 million have a subscription, the rest has a prepaid SIM card. KPN says in the quarterly figures that it is suffering from competition in the area of ​​SIM-only subscriptions.

On average, a customer pays eighteen euros per month for a mobile subscription at KPN, compared to twenty euros a year ago. In addition, KPN is still suffering from declining sales due to the abolition of roaming, which means that the turnover from mobile subscriptions is almost ten percent lower.

KPN has approximately 3.5 million regular customers, a decline of 1.6 percent compared to a year ago. More and more people are taking more than one service from KPN; that is 2.5 million now. KPN’s turnover in the first quarter amounted to 1.4 billion euros, a decline of 3.4 percent. The gross profit or EBITDA amounted to 555 million euros, an increase of 4.9 percent.
