Update iOS has the replaced touch screen work again on iPhones

Recent Iphones with touchscreens that have been replaced have started to work again due to the iOS 11.3.1 update released by Apple. The problems with automatic brightness and the TrueTone function will remain after the update.

The touchscreen of devices with an ‘aftermarket’ screen works again after the update, reports iFixit . In iOS 11.3.1 there is a fix for the problem that in iOS 11.3 iPhones with unofficial displays no longer functioned. The pixels themselves still worked, but the touch functionality did not seem to work anymore.

With this, Apple has solved one of the problems that occurred after repairs of new iPhones. Some other problems remain. This way, the automatic brightness function no longer works, and TrueTone, where the software adjusts the color temperature of the screen for ambient light, is not active. It is unknown if and when Apple issues solutions for this. In addition, iFixit has demanded attention for the observation that the BatteryHealth function in iOS 11.3 does not work with replacing batteries. The problems that occur after repairs came to light two weeks ago.
