Spanish manufacturer presents 3D printer with Android

The Spanish Manufacturer BQ has presented a 3D Printer running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon SOC, and is equipped with Android. Google’s mobile operating system to make the printer’s interface easier and faster.

Moreover BQ hopes that users can easily send print jobs from their smartphones. The built-in support for WiFi the 3D printer should also provide better connectivity than previous models of the manufacturer.

A user can be done within fifteen minutes of the first PCB, claiming BQ. That would in other models take several hours. The Witbox Go runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, a now older smartphone soc with four Cortex-A53 processor cores and an Adreno 306 GPU. The five-kilogram device measures 48x30x25cm and can print objects of 14x14x14cm. BQ brings the printer this summer, for a price of 599 euros.
