How to block ads on Android Apps [for rooted device]

There are plenty of useful Apps available for android which are free in cost but contain ads. These ads are not only irritating but also consume data bandwidth and system resources.  There is very easy trick using which you can get rid of ads on Android apps. The simple trick is to block the internet access of the apps which are supported by ads. This is done by modifying IP table on your android device which can be easily done by firewall apps.

All you have to install a good firewall Apps which are freely available on Google play .  I personally use  ”Android Firewall” app. Thanks to developer for developing this nice firewall apps and distributing it free of cost without any adds.   Not that Android Firewall needs root permission. It will work only on rooted android devices. When you first time run this app, it will ask for root permission; obviously you have to allow the root permission.

Now to block the ads open Android Firewall. You will see a list of all installed apps , something like this in the picture bellow:

There are two check box for each app enlisted, one for WiFi access and other for mobile data access.

Option Menu of Android Firewall

Now check the both boxes of the apps for which you want to block the adds. e.g Astro File Manager.

After checking the check box apply the rules and enable the firewall from the option menu of this app, as shown in the screenshot.  After this step internet access of the apps will blocked and so their ads delivery mechanism.
That’s all! Now you can enjoy your adds free apps!
