How to Make a Hanging Valentine’s Day Décor Using a Coat Hanger?

Valentine’s Day is a celebration observed by many people worldwide despite not being a public holiday in most countries. Recurring practices can be witnessed each year in anticipation and compliance to the day itself. People commonly give gifts to people they love most on this day – gifts in the form of flowers, chocolates, stuffed toys, and cards all preferred to have heart shapes design on it. Tools and Materials:

Used wire hangers

2m Red Satin Ribbon (2”)

1m Red Satin Ribbon (1/2”)

1m White or Silver satin ribbon (1/2”)

Glue-All

Sticker Paper

Glitter Paper

Red Construction Paper

Hole Puncher (optional)

Scissors

Red ornaments (for accessorizing the decor)

Instructions for Hanging Valentine’s Day Décor Using a Coat Hanger:

Step 1. Shape one used Coat Hanger or wire hanger into a heart. There is no right or wrong way on how to push through with this procedure. You can bend, twist, or flatten the hanger as needed; whichever will make your shaping easier is best.

Step 2. Wrap the heart-shaped hanger with 2” red ribbon. Secure the start and end points of the satin ribbon with glue-all multipurpose glue. Allow the glue to set afterwards.

Step 3. Tie a ribbon on the upper part of the heart-shaped wire hanger with ½” red and white ribbons.

Step 4. Cut the Valentine’s Day greeting printed on sticker paper. Do make a heart-shaped cutout.

Step 5. Stick the Valentine’s Day greeting over red construction paper. Cut the red construction paper following the heart shape but leaving few inches of space from the sticker paper. Then, glue the entire heart shape over glitter paper. Cut the glitter paper following the heart shape but leaving few inches of space from the red construction paper. Set aside to dry.

Step 6. Finish off by adding red ornaments on top and bottom part of the cutout Valentine’s Day greeting. Puncture small holes on cutout, insert ornament twines, and secure by making a knot.

After preparing twelve tools and materials, following six easy steps, and spending few minutes of your precious time, you are now ready to hang your own version of a Valentine’s Day décor.
