Mumbai- Mercedes Benz, German luxury car manufacturer has unveiled two sports cars—SL 350 and GL 500 in the Indian market on 3rd May, 2011. These cars launched at the capital city of Delhi will be available at Rs 98.5 lakh and Rs 80.9 lakh respectively.
The SL 350 will come with a 3.5 litre V6 engine while GL 500 will come with a 5.6 litre V6 engine. Managing director of Mercedes Benz India, Peter Honegg stated that these two sports cars are the most popular offerings in their portfolio.
He is confident that both these sports cars will woo customers, critics, media as well as auto enthusiasts. The sports car GL500 is ideal for the growing enthusiasts in India.
These cars have been launched to mark the 125th anniversary of their first automobile. Peter Honegg will grace the occasion.
The GL 500 will be equipped with more up to date features compared to the existing GL and will be a more highly priced variant.
The GL is an off-roader and in India it comes with features such as electric folding mirrors, electrically folding 3rd seat row, electric sliding sunroof, mounted fire extinguisher, media interface and automatic climate thermotronic (3-Zone) tyre pressure loss warning system.
