We have entered the final stretch for Gamescom 2023 , the biggest gaming exhibition in the world that takes place in Germany and at the same time for the big Gamescom Opening Night Live (ONL) show that will be presented by Geoff Keighley .

Now, wanting to prepare the ground, the presenter and producer of The Game Awards and Summer Game Fest granted a related interview to the medium VGC , clarifying what we can expect from this year’s ONL. Elaborating, Keighley clarified that brand new game announcements will be fewer, but the show will still feature some of the biggest games of the year .
With fresh looks at several previously announced games, including Alan Wake 2 and Black Myth Wukong, it will be an exciting show. This year’s ONL focuses more on informing fans about some of the Biggest Games coming out in the upcoming year than it does on announcing brand-new projects.
For the record, last year’s show lasted just over two hours and featured over 35 different games.
Beyond that, Keighley pointed out that Opening Night Live presents some unique challenges compared to its other annual events, such as The Game Awards and Summer Game Fest, not only because of its European location, but also because of the limitation of only to the companies exhibiting at Gamescom itself. But Keighley said that despite being a European show, he sees Opening Night Live as very much a global showcase for projects from groups from around the world.

There really isn’t anything else in the world like the strong sense of community at Gamescom.
Even before I was involved with ONL, I loved coming to Gamescom because it puts so much emphasis on gamers and community.
