After the murder, the remains were dismembered and burned; Cecile Aguilar sentenced to 30 years in prison

Texas : A Texas woman who attempted to cover up and destroy evidence in the killing of a soldier named Vanessa Gillen (Specialist Gillen) has been given a 30-year prison sentence. Cecile Aguilar, a woman, was found guilty in the case. In the case, Cecily entered a guilty plea.

Vanessa Gillen, 20, went missing from Fort Hood, the third largest US military base, on April 22. 2020, after she told friends she had been se-ually assaulted. Months later, on June 30, Vanessa’s remains were found dismembered and burned.

The family alleged that Vanessa was se-ually assaulted before she was killed. The army said that it has not received any such official complaint. Then there were huge protests. Activists have come out against the way the military handles reports of se-ual harassment and assault.

In the ensuing investigation, the army took disciplinary action against more than a dozen officers. On January 1, 2022, a federal law called Specialist Guillen went into effect regarding se-ual harassment complaints in the military.

Investigators checked Specialist Gillen’s phone and found that the last message sent was another soldier, Specialist Aaron Robinson. Prosecutors said in court documents that Specialist Robinson killed her, bludgeoned her in the head with a hammer and hid her body in a large box.

Specialist Robinson was initially taken into custody. But before the trial, he shot himself and killed himself. Cecily Aguilar, now convicted, is Specialist Robinson’s girlfriend. Robinson disclosed this to his girlfriend. The court determined that Cicely helped Robinson dismember Gillen’s body, mix her body parts with cement, and burn it in order to obliterate any remaining evidence. As a result, they received a sentence.
