Clearing the RAM on your iPhone can improve your device’s performance. In this guide, I’ll show you how to clear RAM on your iPhone. The process varies for iPhones with Face ID and a Home Button. Follow the steps according to your iPhone model.

Clear RAM on iPhone with Face ID (Without Home Button)

If you have an iPhone with Face ID, like the iPhone X and later models, then you can clear RAM using AssistiveTouch. Here’s how:

Step 1: First, Open Settings and tap on Accessibility.

Step 2: Tap “Touch.”

Step 3: Tap on “AssistiveTouch.”

Step 4: Now, turn on the AssistiveTouch toggle, and assign the open menu to a single tap.

Step 5: Then press and hold the volume button and slider button until the power off slider appears. Then press the “AssistiveTouch” button.

Step 6: Now tap and hold on the home button in AssistiveTouch. Your iPhone screen will flash and return to the lock screen.

Clear RAM on iPhone with Home button

If you’re using an iPhone with Touch ID or a Home button, you can use the Home button to clear RAM on your iPhone. Here’s how:

• Press and hold the Power button until you see the slide to power off on your screen.
• Instead of powering off, press and hold the home button until your screen flashes and then returns to your lock screen.

Note: You can also shut down your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Shut Down.

You can’t free up your RAM on your iPhone as you can on an Android. For this, follow the above steps on your iPhone. You can also do this by shutting down your device or removing all background apps one by one by swiping up.
