Similar to other social media apps, Telegram Stories will be prominently displayed at the top of the application interface. However, Telegram has made a notable distinction by designing a compact user interface that users can expand at their convenience. This thoughtful feature addresses the preferences of users who may not be avid followers of Stories, allowing them to access the content without it dominating their app experience.
To cater to diverse user preferences, Telegram offers customizable expiry durations for Stories, ranging from 6 to 48 hours. Additionally, users have the option to showcase certain stories permanently, reminiscent of Instagram’s popular Highlights feature. This means that others can explore these permanent stories at any time by visiting the user’s profile.

Telegram has also introduced the dual camera mode, enabling users to simultaneously capture photos and videos using both the front and rear cameras. Users can further personalize their stories by including captions, URLs, tagging people, and utilizing a variety of photo and video editing tools.
Respecting user privacy is a top priority for Telegram, and the Stories feature is no exception. Telegram has implemented robust privacy settings that empower users to control who can view their stories. Users can choose from various options such as allowing everyone to view their stories, limiting access to contacts only (with exceptions), hand-picking a select group of contacts, or creating a list of Close Friends. Furthermore, users can choose to hide stories from specific contacts whose stories they do not wish to see. These hidden stories will be conveniently stored in the Hidden section, ensuring a clutter-free experience within the main Stories area.
According to Pavel Durov, the Stories feature is currently in its final testing phase, and Telegram Stories will be accessible to all users from early July onwards.
