Now in his second season as Quantum Leap’s fast-thinking time-traveler, Dr. Ben Song (Raymond Lee) has found himself in lots of high-stakes situations; last week’s X-Files-ish episode was a particularly hairy one. This week, however, could be his wildest adventure yet, peeking behind the curtain of Hollywood circa 2000.Viewers saw veteran actor Tim Matheson (Virgin River, The West Wing, National Lampoon’s Animal House) pop up in the “next time on...” tease, and now we know a little more about what his role will be for “The Lonely Hearts Club.” According to NBC’s official episode logline: “Ben leaps into the body of an ambitious Hollywood assistant whose famous client, Neal Russell, is in danger. As Ben realizes that Neal’s circumstances may shed light on his own, his working relationship with Addison reaches an inflection point.”We don’t get much insight into the awkward (but hopefully improving?) Ben and Addison situation in this clip, but we do learn more about Neal Russell—or at least, we learn what we don’t know about his fate, a show-biz puzzle that Ben’s apparently been sent to solve.In case that wasn’t clear from the clip, Ben’s “leap-ee” this week is one Summer Walsh, a talent agent assistant in her early 20s. More obvious: Ben and Addison are huge fans, like to a dorky extent, of the actor they’re trying to save from the sailing accident that claimed his life.
