At the 46th AGM of Reliance Industries, Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani emphasized the significance of harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) for India to remain globally competitive. He stated that a global AI revolution is quickly reshaping industries, economies, and daily life. Ambani mentioned that India has the necessary scale, data, and talent to leverage AI but requires a robust digital infrastructure to handle the computational demands.

To address these needs, Ambani pledged to create up to 2000 MW of AI-ready computing capacity across both cloud and edge locations, while also promoting sustainable practices for a greener future. He expressed his commitment to rapidly augment talent and capabilities within the Reliance Industries Group to assimilate the latest global innovations in AI, particularly advancements in Generative AI.

Furthermore, Ambani announced Jio Platforms’ intention to lead the development of India-specific AI models and AI-powered solutions across various domains. The aim is to deliver the benefits of AI to Indian citizens, businesses, and the government alike.

Additionally, over the next five years, Reliance Industries plans to shift the energy footprint in connectivity and digital services to green energy sources. This transition not only supports environmental sustainability but also reduces costs.

Ambani concluded his address by promising AI for everyone, everywhere in a manner similar to how Jio had previously pledged broadband connectivity to all.
