From the time Galileo Galilei first pointed his rudimentary telescope towards the heavens in 1609, the field of Astronomy has been inextricably linked with technology. AI could also be used to control telescopes, adjusting their settings in real-time to optimize observations based on changing atmospheric conditions or the movement of celestial bodies. This would allow for more precise observations and potentially lead to new discoveries.

The integration of AI into astronomy is still in its early stages, but the results so far are promising. In 2018, an AI system discovered two new exoplanets in the data from the Kepler Space Telescope, demonstrating the potential of this technology to contribute to our understanding of the universe.

As we look to the future, it is clear that the relationship between astronomy and technology will continue to evolve. The next generation of telescopes, such as the James Webb Space Telescope and the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope, will generate even more data, further necessitating the use of AI. At the same time, advances in AI technology will likely lead to new methods of data analysis and observation, opening up new frontiers in our exploration of the cosmos.
