Crew 7 Launch Approaching as Crew Dragon Arrives at Launch Site

NASA and SpaceX are making progress towards the Launch of Crew 7 to the International Space Station, as the Crew Dragon spacecraft has arrived at Launch Complex 39A for final preparations. The launch is scheduled to take place on August 25th at 3:49 a.m. ET.

The Crew, consisting of NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli, European Space Agency astronaut Andreas Mogensen, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Satoshi Furukawa, and Russian cosmonaut Konstantin Borisov, have already begun their quarantine period to ensure their health prior to the mission. They are expected to arrive in Florida on August 20th.

This will be the third flight for the Crew Dragon spacecraft named Endurance, having previously launched the Crew 3 and Crew 5 missions to the Space Station. Before the launch, some final tasks need to be completed, including attaching the solar panels to the trunk of the spacecraft, which provides power and additional storage space.

The Crew Dragon is scheduled to dock with the Space Station approximately 23 hours after launching from Kennedy Space Center on August 26th. The Falcon 9 rocket that will launch Crew 7 is Booster 1081, a rookie booster that has undergone extensive testing before its arrival in Florida.

If there are no delays, SpaceX has the potential to launch three Falcon 9 rockets next week.
