Taiwan’s Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) has announced that it has donated laptops, tablets, and maker tools to three middle schools in the Ukrainian city of Poltava. Over 2,000 local students and teachers are expected to benefit from these donations.

MODA worked in collaboration with Taiwanese personal computer brand Acer Inc. to provide Digital Equipment to schools in the war-torn country. The aim of this initiative is to ensure that local students have access to diverse and equal educational opportunities.
The donation ceremony took place in Poltava, where representatives from the schools expressed their gratitude towards Taiwan. They proudly declared themselves to be Taiwan’s friends and pledged to support ongoing cooperation between the two countries.
This is not the first time that MODA has provided digital equipment to Ukraine. In January, they donated similar equipment to the city of Lviv in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Acer Inc., and Ukrainian Catholic University. These efforts are part of Taiwan’s commitment to supporting the rebuilding of the country’s teaching environment.
Taiwan sees itself as being on the front line in the fight against authoritarian regimes. The country is dedicated to safeguarding democracy, freedom, and human rights, and it is committed to standing in solidarity with Ukraine in these efforts.
