Rimac Nevera Sets New EV Nürburgring Record

The Rimac Nevera electric hypercar has broken the world Record for production EVs by lapping the Nürburgring in 7 minutes and 5.28 seconds. This is not the first record set by the Nevera, as it previously achieved a top speed record of 258 mph and set 23 acceleration and braking records, including a 0-60 time of 1.74 seconds.

The previous record holder, the Tesla Model S Plaid Track Package, had a lap time of 7 minutes and 25.231 seconds. The Nevera beat that time by nearly 20 seconds. However, it’s important to note that the Tesla is a family sedan with 1020 horsepower and a starting price of around $110,000, while the Nevera is a limited-production hypercar with 1914 horsepower and a seven-figure price tag.

It is expected that more EVs will attempt to break the Nürburgring record in the future, as electric cars continue to improve in performance and endurance. However, for now, Rimac’s Nevera holds the title as the fastest production EV to conquer the Green Hell.
