Lamborghini has unveiled its latest concept car, the Lanzador, offering a glimpse of the company’s first electric vehicle set to debut in 2028. The 2+2 grand tourer takes design inspiration from Lamborghini’s 2011 Sesto Elemento and the modern Countach. Unlike traditional Lamborghinis with rear engines, the Lanzador features a hatchback rear opening to provide a spacious luggage area. With additional storage in the front trunk, the Lanzador prioritizes practicality without compromising on performance.

The electric concept is powered by a new generation high-performance battery, which drives two electric motors—one for the front wheels and another for the rear. Although specific power numbers have not been released, Lamborghini claims the peak power exceeds one megawatt (1341 hp). The Lanzador also boasts an “active e-torque” system at the rear, allowing for optimized power distribution during cornering.

Lamborghini is proud of the advanced dynamics control system installed in the Lanzador, leveraging an increased number of sensors and actuators to refine its performance and power delivery, delivering an unrivaled driving experience. Active aerodynamics can be found in the front air shutter and splitter, enabling precise air channeling for brake cooling and downforce optimization. The cabin draws inspiration from aerospace design, with a Y-shaped center console reminiscent of a jet’s cockpit. Sustainable materials, such as tanned leather, authentic wool from Australian Merino sheep, and recycled plastic, are used throughout the interior.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann emphasizes that the Lanzador concept embodies the brand’s heritage while embracing new technologies and bold design. With its commitment to active-control systems, advanced dynamics, and sustainable materials, Lamborghini seeks to redefine the driving experience and establish itself as an innovative force in the electric vehicle space.
