In a collaboration with Creative Technology, Xmems Labs is set to release a pair of true-wireless earphones equipped with their innovative solid-state technology. This technology aims to replace traditional coil-based speakers found in audio wearables such as digital hearing aids and in-ear monitors.

The xMEMS design utilizes a stiffer silicon membrane in place of the paper/plastic diaphragm found in conventional speakers. Additionally, thin-film piezo actuators have been incorporated instead of the traditional coil and magnet. This design results in a speaker that is incredibly thin, with one of the xMEMS speaker designs measuring just 1 mm thin.

According to xMEMS, the utilization of their technology offers “unparalleled sound quality and efficiency,” promising crystal-clear sound reproduction with exceptional accuracy to music and audio content.

The upcoming true-wireless earphones from Creative, integrated with xMEMS technology, are expected to provide improved spatial audio with enhanced detail and separation. The phase consistency of these earphones is claimed to be seven times better than conventional drivers.

The release of these earphones is anticipated later this year, and Creative is confident in their ability to deliver exceptional sound quality, comfort, and style to users. The partnership with Xmems Labs aligns with Creative’s commitment to providing superior sound experiences to consumers.
