During the Xbox Games Showcase, it was announced that Microsoft Flight Simulator will be getting a new Dune-themed DLC. To gain a deeper understanding of the Dune world, Jorg Neumann, head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, and Parris Lilly, a YouTuber-podcaster, traveled to ORIGO Studios in Budapest. ORIGO Studios is one of the main shooting locations for the film Dune.

During their visit, Neumann and Lilly met with Patrice Vermette, the film’s Oscar-winning production designer. They toured the actual ornithopter prop used in the movie and discussed incorporating the fantasy flying machine into Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The DLC, called Microsoft Flight Simulator – Dune Expansion, will feature Ornithopter missions that take place on the desert planet Arrakis from the film and book series. The release of the DLC will coincide with the theatrical release of “Dune: Part Two” on November 3.
